Q.
Hi, i have my front two teeth longer than the rest and looking for a perfect & permanent solution to make them in level.I was advised if got a brace it would drop back down again in time(but how much time ???)Also I’ve heard of veneers, do you think that it would work or any other solution.would this cause sensitivity or discoloring in time? Kindly advice…

Ten years ago i was recommened jaw realignment surgery can i have the treatment now

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009
Q.
Hi there When I was 17 I was referred to an orthodontist who advised that my lower jaw was slightly protuding and recommended jaw realignment surgery in order to straighten two teeth. I was keen to get this done, however my mum decided against it. That was over ten years ago and I would like to get this pursue this again as I unhappy with the appearance of my teeth. However is it now too late and would I get an NHS referral?

My front teeth are wobbly is it possible to get my teeth straighten without affecting front tooth

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr Bohara I would like to undertake cosmetic dentistry to straighten both sets of teeth. However when I was 13 I had an accident which resulted in trauma to my upper two front teeth. They both fractured at the root on impact of my fall and bent back in my mouth. I was taken to the emergency London dental hospital where they were able to push the teeth back into place. Two weeks later the nerve in my left tooth died and it was removed from the back during a root canal treatment. Unfortunately the dead nerve decayed and discoloured my tooth before it was spotted and removed and although I had some internal bleaching the tooth remains a yellow colour and has a very dead lifeless appearance. Both fractures are about two thirds of the way up the tooth and the top of the root fragments never fully fused back together with the rest of the tooth. I have the following questions; 1. Is it possible to have a brace fitted to straighten my teeth without subjecting the two front teeth to further trauma? (They currently wobble slightly if moved so I’m not sure if the root gives them enough anchorage to be moved) 2. Would it be wiser to opt for an implant for the two front upper teeth and then have a brace fitted during the healing process? 3. Is it possible to keep both teeth during the orthodontics? 4. Is it possible to whiten the “dead” tooth. 5. Are there any other options? 6. How much would this cost (ballpark)? I have been saving for treatment for a while but everywhere I enquire requires a paid consultation and I just want to know what the options are as I have already paid for two consultations which all required further paid consultations. I hope I have given you enough information on my case and really look forward to hearing back from you. Yours Sincerely

Does chrome dentures clasp onto existing teeth so do my front teeth need to be grounded

Sunday, June 21st, 2009
Q.
Hello. Please could you give me some advice regarding chrome dentures, I have quite a few missing molar teeth from my bottom jaw which make eating very difficult. I still have my very back molars but probably 2 missing from each side. I try to look after my teeth but have never been very lucky with my teeth. I have type 1 diabetes so I am not sure if this affects my teeth ? I went to my dentist today and she said the best option would be a chrome denture which I thought was for old people in a glass next to the bed. I had a quick look at the dentists but was a little worried people woud see I have dentures every time I smile and would they not be uncomfortable to eat with ? It looked like they clasp onto existing teeth so does this mean my good front teeth need to be groung to fit the clasp ? It would be great to see some pictures of chrome dentures and what they look like in someones mouth. Any advice or tips you could give me would be great as I feel really down about my teeth. Kind regards
