I Don’t Like My Metal Based Crowns Which Make My Teeth Look Black. Is This A Cosmetic Issue?

My top two front teeth have metal based crowns. The black ( metal) around the top of the teeth is clearly visible and I am getting fed up with people asking why my teeth are black.
I have just been to the dentist today (NHS), as one of them is quite sensitive to hot and cold and the last three days I have experienced discomfort. However, she doesn’t believe there is anything wrong with it, which is great. However, I asked if these could be replaced as the metal is unsightly. She said that as it is cosmetic I would have to pay £275 for each one. Is this true? I thought I could do this on the NHS for a cost of £210 or thereabouts for both or have I just misunderstood?

I’m 19 And I Get Bullied For Having Large Gums. Would I Get Gingival Contouring On The NHS?

Hi Andrew, I hope you can help me. I’m 19 years of age and for most years of my life I have been bullied for having large gums and a gummy smile. I’ve looked into it and seen about the Gingival contouring, but with my gums been as big as they are I’m wondering how much it would be or whether I’d be able to get it on the NHS? I’d appreciate it if you could help me as it’s something I really need sorting as it’s affecting my confidence. Thanks.

I’m Scared I’ll Lose All My Teeth If My Gum Disease Spreads. Can You Help?

Hi Dr Moore, I was just wondering if you could tell me is it true whether I have gum disease or not on my next to last tooth at the back and the top of my mouth is receding really badly and very painful. I’ve been told if I don’t get it out it will most probably spread along to my other teeth and I am really worried I don’t want to lose my teeth but really need to get it out it is so painful. Do you think it will spread to my other teeth? I hope you can give me some advice so I can fix this problem and hopefully prevent it from spreading. Thanks.

How Can I Rid Myself Of The Nasty Pain Surrounding My Left Canine Gum Line?

Hello Dr Moore,
The gum surrounding my left canine at the bottom of my mouth is very, very sensitive as well as the bottom of the tooth.
If I touch it, it sends a nasty pain, and feeling. It has been like this for a few months now.
It has now started to affect the teeth either side of it also.
What could I do to rid myself of this pain?
Is there any surgery or dentistry I could have or could it prevented by buying any supplements etc.

I Would Like To Know How Much It Is For White Fillings And Whitening Treatment?

Hi Dr Moore, I had a filling in one of my back teeth on left side upper set. But randomly the front of the tooth has gone so I can feel the filling and looking at it I can see the black filling. Quite gross! I wasn’t sure what can be done but I wanted to know if a crown or a white filling could be done and wondered how much it would cost. I also wanted to ask the cost of having white fillings replaced on another tooth, and also a deep clean and possibly whitening all over. I hope you can help.

I Want To Know How Much A Full Set Of Top Dental Implants Costs?

Hello Dr Moore, I require your help. I want full set top implant supporting dentures but no matter how much I ask I cannot get a straight answer for how much it costs for mini or a standard full top set of supporting implants? Please help me with this as I currently have dentures that do not fit and when I told  my dental practice where I live, he told me to take them and go somewhere else. I can’t eat anything much other than soft food and my quality of life is not so good. I look forward to your reply.

I Broke My Jaw A Few Years Back And Since Then My Top Teeth Have Started To Decay. How Can I Afford This Treatment?

Hi Dr Moore, I’m 25 years old and have some seriously bad teeth, to the point where I don’t smile! I did have my jaw broke a few years back and my teeth have got so much worse since then! I have been in a lot of pain in previous procedures and I don’t think I could go through it again! My main issue at the moment is a decaying surface on one of my top teeth which is very visible and it’s getting me down! Do you have any advice that can help me? I’ve Had Acid Erosion And Would Like To Know If A Bridge Is Suitable For My Missing Teeth?

Hello Dr Moore, I am 30 years old and already have had 4 teeth extracted, this is largely down to acid erosion due to too many fizzy drinks and it’s left me with very little enamel left on my teeth. I am missing upper right 4 and 6 and upper left 5 and 6. I desperately want to fill these gaps and I would like to know if a bridge is suitable? Implants are really not an option for me at this time for financial reasons and I do not want to have to wear a denture at such a young age but I need to be able to smile again without a hand over my mouth. Would It Be Possible To Have A Bridge Fitted To My Crowns Or Would I Need New Crowns At Either Side?

Hello Dr Moore. My question is that I got my top four front teeth crowned a few years ago but now my tooth has come out. Would it be possible to have a bridge fitted to my existing crowns or would I have to get new crowns at either side? At the moment I have a single tooth plate but it’s rather problematic as I have to take it out to eat, which isn’t ideal. Do you know of any other treatment I could consider. Hi Dr Moore, Do you know if there are any dentists in the London area that do affordable crowns or veneers. I hate my teeth and want to get cosmetic dentistry done. Also right in the middle of my bottom teeth I have a black dot. I’m wondering what it is as I have no pain in any of my teeth I have not been to the dentist for about 7 years as I have a phobia. My teeth are not in that bad condition only the left side with two teeth and the back have decay on them but the rest of my teeth are okay. Please help, I really want veneers or crowns on all my teeth. Thank you.
