I Would Like To Know How Much It Would Cost For 8 Front Tooth Veneers? Since Having My Daughter My Teeth Have Eroded.

Friday, October 17th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I would like to know how much it will cost for veneers and 6-8 front teeth and then to whiten all of the teeth. With a 6 months smile.

I have a gap between my teeth which I would like to close, also the enamel has eroded away on the top of my front teeth since I have had my daughter and the dentist has filled it but it doesn’t look nice. My second tooth on the right was chipped as a teenager and has now been filled with filling and my teeth are yellow and I want them to be white. Thank you for your time.

I Have Four Impacted Wisdom Teeth. Should I Have One Removed Even Though It’s Likely To Cause Root Resorption?

Thursday, October 16th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I have two questions, the first regarding an implant: Is there any risk of nerve damage even with the use of a CT scan?  And one when it comes to the wisdom teeth: I am 23 years old and I have 4 mesial impacted wisdom teeth. I believe that they are fully surrounded by bone. A dental surgeon told me that one of them is causing minor bone damage around the 2nd molar. Is that the equivalent to root resorption? Is this a valid reason for extraction even though bone would have to be taken to extract the wisdom tooth? How much do wisdom teeth typically move at my age and will they likely/inevitably cause root resorption of the 2nd molar since they are impacted and there is not space for them to erupt? Does the likelihood of these problems, justify extracting them now even though I am experiencing no symptoms, just to avoid the increased extraction risks?

I’ve Seen Two Dentists And They Both Refused To Extract My Teeth. What Should I Do?

Thursday, October 16th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I have been to 2 private dentists in the last 6 weeks. I have been disappointed with both decisions. I have 8 10 year old crowns. I have gaps and they are disgusting. I also have an overbite and receding gums. I have a partial denture and 8 natural teeth. My 2 canines are like dracula’s due to the receding gums. The first dentist they would remove the upper set of teeth but are not willing to remove the bottom set of teeth. They’ll insert an upper denture but it has to match the colour of my bottom teeth. I said, “if I’m paying you I would like all of my teeth removed please”. They refused. The 2nd dentist said, “I am sorry I am not willing to remove any of your teeth, they are still quite strong”. Even though a crown fell out of my mouth 6 weeks ago whilst eating. I was very disappointed and came out of the dentist disheartened. It has cost me a lot of money in X-rays and consultation fees. I still have these dreadful teeth that I have to live with and talk with. It is so embarrassing. If I went to a hairdressers and asked them to cut my teeth, they would do it. It’s shocking. What should I do?

I Want A Smile Makeover But I’m Confused On Which Specific Treatment To Get. Is There Any Advice You Can Give Me?

Wednesday, October 15th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark, I have been wanting a smile makeover for a while now and I am a bit confused on what to get.
I have been told most of my teeth are okay except the four front ones where I have two crowns at the top and I need two veneers at the bottom.
I hate the colour and the size of my teeth, and most are slightly worn down the further back they go.
My ideal would be to have all the teeth removed and replaced with implants or something along those lines. Is this possible even when most of my teeth are supposedly fine? Is there any advice you can give me? Thanks.

My Teeth Are Migrating And I’ve Been Given Conflicting Advice. What Should I Do?

Wednesday, October 15th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes. I have been informed that my teeth will ‘migrate’. I know this is very rare. 2 years ago, I had a mould taken with my dentist and last month, I had another mould taken for comparison. All of my teeth have seemed to move to the side a bit, especially the front, middle section of teeth. Some dentists have advised me to have braces. But some other dentists have advised me not to do so because it may affect the gum. I would like to know how I can solve this problem. It doesn’t cause me any pain, but I’m afraid if I don’t do anything about it, it will become more serious. In a few years time all my teeth might move inward. What can I do? Please advise me on this. Thank you for your time.

Is It Possible To Remove Onlays And Start Again? Will This Damage My Natural Teeth?

Tuesday, October 14th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I’ve just recently had 2 onlays next to each other to on my upper set of teeth but the dentist filed them down too low after fitting them in. He then topped them up again with a filling material but they are still too low and do not meet the lower teeth. Is it possible to remove the onlays to start again? Will this damage my natural teeth? Is it bad to keep adding layers of filling over the onlays? My dentist is having difficulty and seems stuck with what to do. Thank you for your time.

Hi Mark. I’ve Been Told I Have Gum Disease And My Teeth Are Falling Out One By One. Is There Any Way You Can Help Me?

Tuesday, October 14th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I have visited a few dentists and they have all told me that I have gum disease. My teeth are falling out one by one. It is scary because I do not know how it came about and how to prevent it. They told me I have to get dentures because of bone loss as I cannot get implants. I am only 33 years old and having dentures at this age is terrifying! I don’t even know how it will affect my marriage as well. Is there any way you can help me? What is your best solution? Thank you for your time.

I’ve Lost My Dentures And Need A New Set Quickly. Could I Get Same Day Teeth?

Monday, October 13th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I’ve had a full set of dentures for over a year and I’ve stupidly lost them. I would like to know how soon could I get a knew set and how long it would take for them to get made? How much do they cost? I’m in a need of a quick solution and I’ve read that you can get same day dentures? I’ve no problems with my gums or mouth, would it be possible to get same day dentures? I’m hoping to get the dentures fitted quickly. Thank you so much for your help.

I Have Just Had Braces But My Teeth Are Barely Visible When I Smile. Who Should I Speak To For This?

Monday, October 13th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. First of all I am not who to contact about my problem; a maxillofacial surgeon, cosmetic dentist, my orthodontist, a facial plastic surgeon or
a combination of both. I just had my braces removed and I now have clear retainers.
Before I had braces two of my upper teeth were extracted. The problem is when I talk or smile my teeth are not visible
vertically and horizontally. I have to force my smile to see my teeth which looks unnatural. My nose droops downward, and looks
out of proportion when I smile, so I may need a rhinoplasty. I can provide pictures if needed. Thanks.

I Am 17 Years Old And I’m Unhappy With The Way My Teeth Look. How Can I Find The Right Clinic?

Friday, October 10th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark, I am 17 years old and I am really unhappy with the way my teeth look and therefore I am currently trying to decide what will be the best procedure for me to get in order to correct my smile. I am thinking of getting porcelain veneers but I am very worried about where to get them done and how to go about the whole procedure. Could you recommend any places and let me know whether you think this procedure will be best for me? Thank you.
