Hi my four front teeth were pushed sideways and back in a fall 3 weeks ago and the 2 front teeth are broken. The dentist at hospital pushed them back as best he could and braced them but they are very painful and not in the right place.I am really concerned about them and would like them removed and a partial or bridge fitted. I am 57 years old and this has affected me more than I thought. I am registered with a local private practice.

Can I Get My Braces Removed and a Partial Bridge Fitted?
Thursday, August 13th, 2015Will it Take a Long Time to Get My Teeth Sorted?
Thursday, August 13th, 2015Dear Sir. My teeth are coming forward and they hit my lower lip and makes marks on it. Because of this my lips are also coming outward. It also creates a problem with speaking as my voice do not get clear and I feel problems when speaking continuously. I also feel odd whenever I speak. When I laugh my teeth come out, which makes me feel bad. I asked the dentist, he told me it could cost nearly £25000 and will take 1 year or more. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do?
Could Flossing Be Irritating My Gums Under My Bridge?
Thursday, August 13th, 2015I have a bridge and it feels loose up on my gums. The bridge itself is not loose but I feel the sensation that it is. I saw my dentist yesterday and he did an x-ray which confirmed it is not loose but my gums are irritated. He advised rinsing with salt and warm water and also a non-alcohol mouth wash. I have a follow up appointment in 3 weeks. I first noticed this feeling after my normal check up after the hygienist flossed my bridge. I use a waterpik flosser and thought that maybe the flossing with dental floss vs. my normal waterpik irritated my gums. Do you have any suggestions as to why I may be feeling this moving sensation in my gums?
Thank you!
Would the Inman Aligner Be Suitable For Me And How Much Would It Cost?
Thursday, August 13th, 2015Dear Dr Moore,
I would like to consider the Inman Aligner and have visited my local dentist to ask further about this treatment. I suffer from gingivitis and have lost a few of my back teeth due to grinding and an abscess. The front teeth are apparently healthy and I wondered if this treatment was adequate for me. Also could you please confirm the price range for such treatment (upper and lower teeth) as I have been quoted over £4000 having mild crowding on the bottom and one tooth slightly out at the top creating a gap, but the rest are aligned. Many thanks for your feedback.
My Teeth Are Broken and Black. What Can Be Done?
Wednesday, July 29th, 2015I am 71 and my teeth are broken and black. Could it be helped with a product, or could I have them all out? It would be nice to smile and talk to people without them commenting on my black teeth.
I would like them out but due to ill health and having a heart attack in 2006, is it wise to have this
done at my age? They do not hurt, some of them have broken off and left the root in my gums. They look unsightly to my family and friends, and most of all
myself when I look at them in the mirror.
Is There Any Way I Can Get Dental Implants for Free?
Wednesday, July 29th, 2015 Hello,
I am enquiring about dental implants. I have had a medical problem that has caused me to take medication that has in effect damaged my teeth and gums so badly. They are in desperate need of repair. I am a benefit claimant and cannot afford the high costs of this treatment. I would like some advice on how I can receive implant treatment that is either free or affordable.
Regards.
What is the Most Affordable Cosmetic Treatment for Dental Fluorosis?
Monday, July 20th, 2015Hi. I have severe – and I mean severe – fluorosis which I find a liability on my social and economic life. What is the most affordable cosmetic treatment for dental fluorosis? I was born abroad in a Florine heavy part of Africa where almost everybody had the problem. All my teeth are discoloured (brown and dark brown). I am not looking for an expensive cosmetic solution, what I need is a less invasive and affordable solution. Thank you.
How Can I Get NHS Treatment for Gum Disease?
Friday, July 3rd, 2015Before Christmas last year my dentist told me I had quite bad gum disease. In February this year my gums started bleeding and I used Corsodyl mouthwash (I had used it before) but my mouth and gums came up in ulcers and my gums were inflamed. My dentist couldn’t give me an appointment, I was in so much pain that I went to see another dental surgery who saw me there and then. The new dentist said I had an allergic reaction to the mouthwash. They discovered I have been grinding my teeth. Since then the ulcers have gone but now my gums have receded to the point that it feels like I have almost none, they hurt all the time, my teeth now hurt and I keep getting headaches. I saw the new dentists once a week for nearly 3 months and was sent to my GP for blood tests to check for underlying issues but it was clear. The new dentist said I need to see a periodontist – but they all charge more then I can afford. I’m a single parent on benefits and on NHS tax credit exemption. But I cannot find an NHS periodontist anywhere and I’m in constant pain. My GP referred me to a dental hospital but they do not offer the service I need. How can I get seen and treated via the NHS for this?
