Hello Dr Moore. I have had a composite filling along and below the gum line of my bottom back molar as the gum has receded. Since having had this done I’ve suffered with high sensitivity so now can’t even use mouthwash as it is hyper-sensitive. Is this normal with this type of treatment? I’m worried about brushing it as it’s already fallen out four times and every time I go back, the dentist is having to grind a bit more of my tooth in order for the filling to stick. I’d really like some help with this. Thank you for your time.

Wednesday, May 21st, 2014I Lost My Teeth When I Was Younger And It’s Hard To Wear Dentures. What Should I Do?
Monday, May 19th, 2014Hello Dr Moore. I lost my teeth when I was 14 years old which has made me self-conscious all my life. I am 50 years old now and my bottom gum is very wobbly and find it hard to get dentures to fit. The last time I got new dentures they had no bottom groove in them and they lay flat on my gum so I don’t like to wear them. I went back and told them but not to my satisfaction. They lie in my drawer now but obviously because of my wobbly gum, the impression didn’t work. Is there anything that can be done to help me with this? Thank you for your time.
One Of My Lateral Incisors Is Not Quite In Line. Will I Need Clear Aligners To Straighten This?
Friday, May 16th, 2014 I have recently had a treatment with the Inman Aligner. At the moment I am wearing my removable retainer – I was told I should wear it for 3 months and then will be fitted a permanent one.
One of my lateral incisors is not quite in line and I wanted my teeth perfectly straight. I spoke to my dentist about this and he said he can reshape my tooth so it will appear straight. But after I have been wearing my retainer for 2 weeks my other lateral incisor moved about 1 mm and is slightly behind my central incisor. How disappointing. I am starting to regret ever having the treatment.
My dentist said if this is a problem for me he can refer me to another orthodontist so I can get fixed braces. But I assume, this means I would be paying for the treatment all over again? Can you please help me and advise what are my options if the problem won`t be rectified by my dentist? I heard people getting clear aligner to tweak their teeth but my dentist isn`t suggesting this to me. Obviously I am not willing to pay for fixed braces, once I have paid for the Inman Aligner already.
I Used To Wear Braces But Now My Teeth Are Moving And Are No Longer Straight. Can I Get New Braces At A Reasonable Price?
Thursday, May 15th, 2014Hi there. I have just turned 27 years old. I used to wear braces when I was in school, the ones with the single mental line, which I could take out and put back in whenever I liked. Due to personal circumstances dental treatment stopped. As the years have gone by especially in the last few years I have noticed they are moving and are not straight. I have a job but I’m receiving working tax credit. I’ve always put dental treatment off due to costs. But now I really want braces as it’s effecting my self esteem. I was wondering what would be the best way to go about getting them at a reasonable price. Thank you.

I Had A Tooth Snap Off Weeks Ago. When I’ve Finished With The Antibiotics Do I Go To My Dentist Or The Hospital?
Wednesday, May 14th, 2014Hello Dr Moore. I had an upper right tooth snap off several weeks ago. It caused me no pain at the time, however in the last few days it has and is causing me serious pain and extreme facial swelling. My GP has prescribed antibiotics but the pain remains regardless. What can I take to try to relieve it? When I have finished the antibiotics do I go to a dentist or hospital? There are still remnants of the tooth in the gum but the pain is awful. I have very little funds and need to know where to turn. Thank you for your reply in advance.
Can You Suggest Appropriate Methods To Replace Missing Teeth Which Might Be More Secure Than Those I Currently Use?
Monday, May 12th, 2014 I am 41 years old, non;smoker, general good health. My teeth are fine but owing to a 15 year gap in visits to the dentist I (according to an X-ray image), I now have advanced gum disease which will not respond to treatment, at least at a non specialist level. Consequently the rear molar on either side of the lower jaw has been removed and according to my dentist this now leaves my bottom teeth in a stable state. However 2 front teeth on the upper jaw have also been removed
and the 3 behind the right canine
also have infection beneath them and thus are scheduled for removal in near future. I already have a small denture for the missing front teeth but this has to be removed in order to eat any but the softest foods. If all these teeth are removed is any infection
likely to be contained? Can you suggest appropriate methods to replace missing teeth which might
be more secure than those I currently use?
