I Had A Calcium Deficiency During My Pregnancy. Can Anything Be Done To Rectify My My Smile?

Thursday, September 26th, 2013
Q.

During pregnancy I had horrible case of calcium deficiency, my teeth shifted and I suffered significant bone loss. I would like to know if your six week smile program would be ideal for me since it is a lot gentler in regards to the movement of teeth below the gum line.
My lower central incisors are slightly twisted, the lateral incisors have moved slightly behind the central incisors which have resulted in lower crowding.
My upper central incisors have moved forward and my gum line has elevated a bit, also I have developed a space between them. My right lateral incisor and canine have shifted slighted behind each other. My upper right first and second pre-molars were extracted. Also I have filings in both my upper first molars.

Please advise if anything can be done to rectify my smile. Regards.

How Long Does It Take To Recover From All-In-Six Implants And Is It Painful?

Tuesday, September 17th, 2013
Q.

I went for a consultation for all-on-six implants for the removal and replacement for my upper jaw and after the 3-d scan was told I was a good candidate for the treatment. Can you tell me how severe the pain is for the few days after the treatment as I have been told different answers by the two surgeries I have had consultations from? The first dentist said I would be able to go back to work after a day off following the surgery and the second dentist said I would need to have a week off work. I am a bit confused by this, Thanks.

My Teeth Are In Bad Shape Making It Hard To Eat, What Are My Chances Of Having Functioning Upper Teeth In The Future?

Wednesday, September 11th, 2013
Q.

Hi Mark. My teeth are in really bad shape and it has just started to dawn on me just how severe my situation is. All of my back teeth on the top row have broken down to sporadic spikes and now it is spreading to the front and bottom teeth. This means it is becoming more visible and making it increasing hard to eat. I have long since cut out almost all sugar and do not touch sugary drinks but it is still getting worse. I know that going to the dentist is my only option if I am to salvage any of my teeth but would very much appreciate any advice and information you could give me regarding my chances of having any kind functioning upper teeth again and avoiding further decay of my remaining teeth (as cutting almost all sugar and even fructose hasn’t helped). Thanks a lot.

I Fell And Broke My Front Teeth A Couple Of Days Ago, I’m Worried My Dentist Wants Me To Wait For Five Weeks. Is This Right?

Wednesday, September 4th, 2013
Q.

Hi Andrew, my problem is that I fell and broke my two front teeth in half five days ago. My lips and face are still slightly swollen from the fall, but I do not have any tooth ache or sensitivity with any of my teeth. I do not know what options I have as my dentist has told me to wait five weeks before getting X-rays. I am worried that this is really a long time to wait and my options may be even more limited. I am 21 years old and would like to keep my natural teeth, depending on their condition I know, but I do not know if five weeks is too long to wait for an assessment. What would my options be regarding treatment and what you recommend?

I Love The Way My New Plate Looks, But It’s Given Me A Lisp. Can They Change It’s Shape?

Friday, August 30th, 2013
Q.

Hello, I want to tell you that I had top replacement plate made because my first plate was nine years old and I thought it was time to get a second one in case something happened to the only plate I had. Well, the new plate looks beautiful, but I now have a lisp. To me it seems like the palate is too deep on this plate. It is much deeper on this plate than on my other one. Do you know if they can alter the plate somehow? Is this a question a lot of people ask? I really do love the way my new plate looks, I just hate the lisp that it has given me. They advised that I try it and see if it goes away. What do they do to try and resolve this?

Any help you can give me is much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello, I Have A Big Fear Of The Dentists, But I Have To Go. What Are My Options?

Tuesday, August 27th, 2013
Q.

Hello, I have a really huge fear of the dentist as of bad experiences with them when I was younger and I have extremely bad anxiety and panic attacks. I have had a big filing fall out which has caused a big section of my tooth to come out and I can’t eat or sleep properly due to the pain, I have my first appointment with a dentist on Tuesday but I’m really terrified. Is it possible for you to tell me if you know whether I can be put asleep for treatment before treatment or something along those lines? Where would treatment like this be available to me? Please reply as this is urgent and really very scared. Thank you for your time.

My Dad Is Suffering From TMJ, Is Surgery The Only Option?

Wednesday, August 14th, 2013
Q.

Hello sir,
my dad aged 68 is suffering from TMJ. We have tried almost most of the suggested treatments except surgery. He is not able take anything other than liquids. He has severe locking/ unlocking problem both jaws and unable to close mouth easily. This is knocking his confidence. Also, mouth keeps opening up…..we are being suggested that only surgery can help. Could you please suggest if this is treatable and if yes, how much would it cost please? He is not a resident of UK. Any information you can provide on the matter would be greatly appreciated as it is severely affecting not only him but his family also.

I Suffer From Bad Breath, Despite Regularly Brushing My Teeth. What Treatments Are Available To Combat This Problem?

Tuesday, August 13th, 2013
Q.

Hello Andrew,

I have been suffering from bad breath for many years and now realise that I need to seek proffessional help in order to obtain a long term solution. To give you a brief idea of my problem, I brush my teeth at least twice a day and in the way in which my dentist advises. I also regularly clean my tongue and use mouthwash, but within one hour of my routine, to maintain oral hygeine, I can guarantee that the bad breath will be back. Although my gums are alot better than they used to be, I still believe that it is the gum disease, that my dentist tells me I have, that is the main cause of the problem. Can you advise me of any treatments available that I can undergo to remove this problem from my life.

Kind Regards

What Choices Are Available To Me, Regarding A Cracked Tooth?

Friday, June 14th, 2013
Q.

Hi Doctor Patel. I wondered if you could help me? Unfortunately, I have cracked one of my teeth (bottom row, right at the back). The crack is across the top of the tooth but it is not causing me any pain at the moment. I know if I don’t get it seen to it could become infected or it may even die.  I have made a dentist appointment but I wanted to know what choices should be available to me? I would like to know because I know cosmetic work can be quite costly. So I need to know how much money I am likely to be paying. I also work, so it would be great to know how many appointments I’ll have to make in order to have this problem fixed. Thank you for your time.

My Filled Tooth Is Aching Still, Do I Need A Root Canal?

Wednesday, May 29th, 2013
Q.

I had my back tooth filled over 2 weeks ago and am still in pain, went back to dentist today and he gave me toothpaste, I am still in pain what can I do? He also gave m some more fillings altogether 3. I am on benefits, do you think he is trying to make money out of me and why hasn’t he taken an x ray? – I feel there is something not quite right with this dentist. The pain is circulating around my tooth, The tooth he filled was previously looked at by another dentist who said I should have a root canal, and this dentist said he could save it but I am still in pain.
