Hello, I am 29 year old female, with severely crooked teeth, heavy smoking has created severely tar stained teeth, recess gums, periodontal problems etc. I had a bad experience and am now terrified of going but my bottom four front teeth are feeling a little loose and my incisors have twisted back from my wisdom teeth beginning to show through, it is destroying my life, but I’m so terrified I don’t know where to start, and can’t really afford major surgeries which I know I need.
What kind of treatment plan would you give if I was a patient of yours and is it possible to be knocked out for all appointments? Thank you x

Friday, November 15th, 2013My Fear Of The Dentist Has Led Me To Do Something I Regret. Please Help Me Before I Visit The Dentist?
Wednesday, November 6th, 2013Hello Dr Gambroudes. I was wondering if you could give me any advice. I had a hole in my tooth and being terrified of the dentist I stupidly bought Denseal superior and placed the glass isomer compound in my tooth. Now I want to remove it and visit a dentist. Do you have any idea what will either loosen or dissolve it? I want it removed before I visit the dentist as I don’t want them to know I was so stupid to use it. Any help is really appreciated, thank you.
I Really Fear The Dentist And I Don’t Want Braces. Is There A Pain Free Way To Straighten Teeth?
Tuesday, November 5th, 2013Hello, I really have a fear of dentists and I really don’t want braces. I’ve been told that my teeth can be straightened using WaterLase, is this true and how much would it cost? I really don’t like smiling and want to feel confident when I’m around people and feel happy when smiling. Please help me. I’m very nervous about dentists because my last dentist cut my gums while doing a check-up and I have never been able to be confident about going back so I really don’t want braces due to the pain and how long it takes to straighten out my teeth.
Thanks. I hope you can suggest any alternatives.
I Have Not Visited The Dentist For Some Time As I Have An Overwhelming Fear. I Need My Cracked Teeth Fixed.
Friday, November 1st, 2013Hello Dr Moore. I have not visited a dentist in a long time, this has lead to an overwhelming fear which I find hard to overcome.
Due to this, my four wisdom teeth are broken in half and have been this way for some time, some of the rear teeth are cracked slightly and I have half a tooth on my left side.
I was working with the military
for a few years, and with a bad diet and lack of dental hygiene, this has unfortunately developed.
I have not visited a dentist due to fear – is it possible to seek help through the NHS for elective surgery to fix my teeth?
Can Old Veneers Be Removed Or Filed Down? Mine Are Too Thick And Don’t Match The Rest Of My Mouth.
Thursday, October 24th, 2013 Can old veneers be removed?
Many years ago I had them fitted and they have always looked too thick. I would like to know if they can be filed down to look slimmer.
I have never had the nerves or the money to do anything about this as I used to suffer from panic attacks and could not face the thought of going to the dentist.
It would be more affordable to me if the teeth I have now could sort of be modernised, like skimmed down so I don’t look as though my teeth are so thick.
They don’t seem to suit the rest of my teeth.
At the time I paid £500 pounds for them at a dentist in Manchester.
I had the teeth done as a result of domestic violence and one tooth was chipped but the other was perfectly okay.
However the dentist said I should have the two of them done for a better result?
I would appreciate your help and guidance.
Kindest regards.

I’ve Just Had A Root Canal Filled And The Pain Has Made Me Cry. I’m Scared Of Going To The Dentist Now. What Should I Do, My Mouth Has Started To Swell?
Wednesday, October 16th, 2013Hello Dr Shaffie, I went to the dentist recently and had a root canal fill and I’m in bad pain since. I can’t eat or put my teeth together and my face has swelled up on the side the tooth was done. What should I do? I would give it a five out of ten in pain, the pain is in my ear to the mouth and has made me cry. It looks like the inside of my mouth is swelling where the needle was put in. I was told I would get pain but this pain is too much. How can going to the dentist do this to you? I wished I never went now, it has made me scared of going to a dentist again.
Hi! I Have A Broken Tooth And I’m Afraid It Will Hurt To Get Treatment To Sort It Out. Do You Know Of Any Natural Remedy?
Thursday, October 3rd, 2013Hello Dr Gambroudes! I really want to ask you a question. I’m a teenager and I have a broken tooth. It’s my first time that this has happened in my entire life. It hurts only sometimes when I eat, but not that often. I’m afraid to remove that bad part of the tooth from a dentist with those tools they use because I know it’s painful. Is there any home remedy or natural substance that with help me remove that part and then go to the dentist to fill it? Thanks a lot.
Hello I Am Very Nervous When It Comes To Visiting The Dental Practice, Is There Anything That Can Be Done?
Tuesday, October 1st, 2013 Hello,
I am a very nervous person about going to the dentist, I do not know what to do and would like some advice. I have a couple of teeth which have been knocked out and a few missing teeth, I also know I need fillings. I find eating certain foods difficult and I feel uneasy when I have to properly smile and I don’t feel confident when opening my mouth. My confidence of attending the dentist is very low, I do want to get treatment on my mouth but I am very nervous. Do you have suggestions on what I should do and do cosmetic dentists provide a service to nervous patients?
