The outer side of my top tooth broke just days after an inlay was put in. It has been repaired with some filling, which I was told could last for some time before I had to make a decision what to do next. This filling on the outside is becoming loose just after a few days. The solution now I suppose is a crown. But how do I find a dentist to do the job right as I lost confidence in my present dentist?

How Do I Choose the Right Dentist?
Friday, November 4th, 2016What’s the Best Treatment for a Crown and Filling That Have Fallen Out?
Thursday, September 22nd, 2016I am a 54 year old female and I currently wear a partial denture, which looks like my own teeth and has become loose (6 teeth missing at the front). I also had a crown to the side and a big filling towards the back (I think you call them pre-molars). Both have fallen out. The tooth that was next to the crown that has fallen out is too far gone that the dentist says it’s not worth filling because its actually dead and down to the gums. What options are available and budget-friendly? What can I expect to pay on the NHS or private?
Will Crown Work Damage My Veneers?
Tuesday, August 16th, 2016I have veneers on my front upper teeth, but one is a crown. Within a short time, a dark gum line appeared. I want to change the crown for an all porcelain crown as the one I have has a metal core. Will the process damage the veneers either side of it? I had the work done in 2009. I live in London and would like to find an expert in cosmetic dentistry to advise what is best for my situation. My usual dentist is very good, but he does not specialise in cosmetic work.
My Crowns Are Forming Wide Gaps Between Them. What Can Be Done?
Tuesday, May 17th, 2016Hello, I have crowns on my front teeth both top and bottom. I had these done when I was abroad about 8 years ago. The front ones on the top are forming wide gaps between them. Is there anything I can get done without replacing them? I am not sure, but I heard that there can be splints put between them. If so, are these expensive? I do not want to have to replace them as they are very expensive. Thanks.
Can a Crown be Re-Shaped Using Veneers?
Friday, May 13th, 2016I broke my front tooth in an accident 20 years ago. It had a metal-ceramic crown. A part of the root was also damaged, for which I had an operation to remove part of the bone from the lingual side. The new crown was very ugly shaped, different to the other tooth. Many dentists fear to remove the crown, others say to have an implant done, which I fear. Is it possible to restore the shape by means of a veneer or Lumineer? A dentist made a restoration with composite, but it is broken now, after many years.
Is There Supposed to be a Gap Between a Dental Crown and the Gum?
Friday, April 29th, 2016Hello.
I hope your day is going well.
I am writing to you to find out if the gap between the dental crown and the gum is a side effect of having a crown fitted. I had been treated with one crown, some time ago and realised that it isn’t fitted right. I am worried that food may get behind the crown and so cause the decay process.
I find it hard to believe that this is something happening frequently, can’t believe it is something normal.
Thank you very much for your time.
Should I Get My Crown Reduced in Size?
Thursday, May 21st, 2015My front crown has been coming forward and now leaves ulcers on my bottom lip. My dentist referred me to an orthodontist. I said that I feel the front jaw is moving forward, she said that I would be better trying to reduce size of the crown as braces take a long time. I do have a overhang and also small chin, but I have also noticed I’m starting to spray as I talk and have woken up a couple of times choking, could this all be part of my jaw alignment and can anything be done? I am 51. Thanks.
I’m Not Comfortable with my Crowns. Can They Be Altered?
Tuesday, May 12th, 2015 I have paid approximately £10,000 for most of my teeth to have crowns.
The bottom teeth were done last and I had several sets of temporaries to get the bite correct. The bottom finals have gone in but the front 4 teeth are too tall, they are predominant and quite apparent whilst I’m talking. They also point forward quite a lot. This is nothing like the temporaries that were fitted. I’m not comfortable with these teeth. I had them done 10 days ago. What do I do if the dentist makes it difficult for me to change after explaining? I’d really appreciate an opinion from yourself Andrew.
