I am 26 years old and have had a silver crown fitted to my second from back upper tooth. I was told you would not see when I smiled but you can see it when I smile and I’m unhappy with the way it looks. As I only had It this week, could I just pay the difference approx another £200 more to change to a white crown or would I need to start from scratch and pay much more money around an additional £400 to the £200 I have already spend? Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you shortly

I have a very large gap in between my two front top teeth I’ve had it all my life and most of the women in my family have this, I’ve been to an othodontist and I havent got a tooth inbetween or any other dentistry problems. I’ve always wanted it closing up. I would like to know whats another way of sorting this problem out without braces? I’ve thought about veneers but have heard they are very costly? What would you advice? I was thinking maybe infills but am worried that my to front teeth would look overly large
thanks, I look forward to your response.

I suffered a serious injury to my teeth uppers. I had to get a plate because of my siezures that knocked my front 4. I have a partial know. The injury affected took out all my 4 fronts even roots inbetween my eye teeth.I have an( r)eye tooth that has damage greying but when i seen my dent. surgeon there was a nerve still alive on one side more than another. He said(dentist) if it doesn’t hurt root canal is not what he wants to do…He also said the tooth can reverse …I am worried or maybe can the right eye tooth gain strenght to stay in without (R.C.opr) all others are fine and healthy..can I get my eye tooth healthy again.?
I went in this morning to get molds done for veneers (10) for smile enhancement; brighter smile and a front chipped tooth about 1 month ago (composite placed to reshape 2 front teeth back in 2004) . So, I chose to do this because I also used to drink a lot if acidic drinks and I thought getting veneers would help preserve my original teeth. The Dr. ended up shaving a lot more tooth than I expected and I feel awful and think I’ve made a bad decision. The Dr. said I had abscessed teeth, but when I looked up what that meant, I never had any pus-filled pockets or any other signs of the definition. He says everything will be fine, that they use e-max with a 7 year warranty and my teeth will look great once they are placed on. Do you any advice? I regret letting him shave off so much tooth, but it was too late after I realized how much was being removed. Any re-assurance would be great, but I’ll take any advice you can provide me. Thanks.
Could you please help me. I have no teeth in the upper jaw and only 5 teeth in the lower jaw. I was left 5000 from my mum that died recently. I know it is not much for implants. But im praying that you will know a nice doctor that can offer an alternative treatment that would help me get some teeth again.I struggle to eat and suffer with a hernia in my stomach, which is not helped by me not chewing my food. I’m so ashamed of them and it’s very embarrassing and is affecting my whole life. I beg you please doctor help me. Many thanks.
I am 28 & have a retained upper left canine tooth. X-rays show that the adult tooth is lying horizontal in my gums, but I’m sure whether it is ankylosed or not. The baby tooth is relatively healthy but I want to know what the best option is for treatment. Various dentists have brushed off my questions of long-term bite issues and I worry that the braces & chain option may be coming to an end if I don’t act soon. Also I wonder if I would have a gap for the duration of the treatment, as I doubt I could live with that as an adult. Thanks
Hi Dr Hughes
I have been told by my dentist i have gum disease and have had root planing treatment. I am 43 and before being told i had this disease i considered myself to have nice teeth no crowns caps , 2 filling etc and considered i had a good brushing routine, with regular visits to the dentist,
I am horrified that it has been missed by my dentist. I have bone loss and my gums have receded leaving gaps between my teeth. my front teeth have shifted and i am going to have a brace fitted to correct this. my lower 4 front teeth look horrendous due to recession would a gum graft correct this?. i cry most days because i no longer have a smile and also now suffer anxiety attacks .I need to have this corrected as i know i will never be happy until i do , I loved my smile.
I work in the beauty industry so you can imagine appearance is important . i do not think my dentist listens when i ask about the gaps and although i know now my gums are in good health as the probings are all 2s It is the appearance that makes me cry. please advise me on gum grafting and possible cost i am at my wits end.
many thanks for your time in reading this email.
Hi Andrew, I'm 25 and my teeth are a complete shambles! This is mostly my fault as I was a heavy smoker and liked fizzy drinks. I've recently quit both, however I'm undergoing treatment for a medical condition which involves a high dose of steroids and I'm convinced they are affecting my teeth as well! I have a slight phobia of the dentist and untill recently I hadn't been since I was 16. I had to go in June this year as my horse had knocked one of my front teeth out! I had a temporary post fitted and was due to go back but I moved to a diffirent county. I found a dentist closer to home and all he wanted to do was tell me how awful my teeth are and that I'll have none left by he time im 30! Well I know that! And to be fair it took alot for me to even go to him, just to be treated like a second class citizen. I'm not terribly well off… I'm signed off from work for medical reasons however my teeth are a priority and I'm willing to spend whatever it takes to have a nice smile! Is there a way I can set up a payment plan with a dentist for the work I need done as it's going to cost thousands and I don't have it upfront but can afford up to £200 a month. Where can I find a good cosmetic dentist? I live in Kent. Thanks.
i have nice teeth all round but i have a problem with my two front teeth, as i teen i may have chipped them and i have noticed that the “chip” is getting bigger. The chip is in the middle of my two front teeth.
i was wondering if it is possible to file them to make them appear rounded? My two front teeth are large anyway so i do feel that this is possible? Would they both have to be altered? I don’t know how to go about getting this done. please get back to me asap….
I know I need to get several teeth extracted at the back of my mouth on both sides but I don’t want to have teeth missing as I’m only 30 years old.
I previously suffered from bulimia and I know the decay stems from that.
I can’t afford to pay all at once as it would appear that this could cost me 1000s. Is there a way to pay this off in installments as I really want to to get this fixed so I can feel confident again?
I’ve heard you can sometimes volunteer for trainee dentist at a discount is this possible and how would I go about it in Birmingham?
Thank you for you help.
