Could I Have A New Bridge With More Teeth Fitted?

Tuesday, June 4th, 2013
Q.

My top front teeth are two crowns with a bridge. They have lasted 26 years and have recently come out twice due to wear of the teeth they are fixed on to. My dentist advised me that my only option now is implants or dentures, I don’t really want either of these. Is it not possible to have a new bridge fitted with more teeth on the bridge. This would then be a crown at each side with four teeth on the bridge. or is this too many teeth for a bridge. Can any one advise me on this please?

My Crown Keeps Falling Out, Would The Fact I Have Had Chemotherapy Have Any Bearing On This?

Thursday, May 30th, 2013
Q.

hi im in the uk, my front crown has been falling out pretty regular, went to my dentist who is going to fix the crown next to the tooth that’s on a bridge. i’d like to know whether or not this will help the crown to stop falling out? to give you a bit of context about me, i’m 55 years old, in 2006 i was diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma. following this i had chemo and in 2006 i was cured. i’d also like to know whether or not the chemo could have any effect on my teeth? i do go for regular check ups so it’s not like i’m a stranger to the dentist. do you think that it will be a new bridge with the tooth joined on to it? look forward to hearing your response. thank you.

Should I Get A Gold Bridge And Gold Fillings?

Friday, May 24th, 2013
Q.

Hi
I recently lost 2 teeth ul5 and ul7 . I’ve been told a need a bridge . Is gold the best option? Also have a lot of silver fillings which are over 15 years old and caused these 2 teeth to crack. I went to 4 different dentists that said they were fine. Should they been replaced with gold do you think? Recently I changed to a private dentist and I would also like to know, how do white composite fillings compare to gold ones and are they an option? Many thanks. Hope to hear back from you soon.

What Has Happened To My Bridge?

Tuesday, May 21st, 2013
Q.

Hi Andrew

I went to Budapest and had porcelain veneers fitted, I have a strong smell in my mouth and they have now concluded that I need 2teeth extracting, therefore they say the bridge which is all fitted in one will have to come out and a new one will cost 4000 pounds, this is all very distressing for me as its turning out to be a very exspensive job. the bridge was fitted approx 2 years ago and i have also had various abcesses in that period were i have travelled to london for treatment with the same dentist who fitted the bridge its a whole one in my mouth i’d be grateful for your advice please

Tuesday, May 21st, 2013
Q.

Sir,
I have lost front 6 teeth in lower jaw , numbering from first premolar to the other end canine, due to an accident.
Is Dental bridge the right solution to replace the lost teeth and how long the dental bridge will remain.
My age is 24 , did dental bridge will last long without damaging the supporting teeth.
Is their another solution other than Dental bridge and Dental implants? Kindly, suggest the correct solution for the above problem.

How Much Would A New Bridge Cost From A Private Dentist?

Friday, May 10th, 2013
Q.

I have had a bridge made and fitted on the NHS for my two bottom front teeth, I am not happy with it at all. The false teeth are “taller” than my own teeth, a different colour, keep coming loose ( have to keep going back to the dentist to have it re- cemented which costs me £18 each time) gap at the bottom which has left me with a lisp that is getting worse. In the last six months the dentist has put a white filling between my two front teeth as I have a gap on three occasions and they have all fallen out within two days. The previous white filling I had for about three to four years. I would appreciate a quote for a bridge for my two bottom front teeth and having a white filling to fill the gap in my two front top teeth. As a result of these issues I have gone from a confident outgoing person to a recluse.

Kind Regards.

Would A Fixed Bridge Work For Me?

Thursday, May 9th, 2013
Q.

I lost my front 4 teeth in a car crash, and have been so sad since. Lots of semi useless devices fitted some better than others, none really good.
All other teeth on top jaw are ok filled here and there but roots ok etc. I do not want implants, but surely a fixed bridge could work for me ? I have lost all confidence in these awful metal contraptions with teeth on, and I am in the public eyes more and more. I am confident but this is just so killing my SMILE. Any help ? Advice? Cost of doing a fixed bridge and getting me SMILING again. Thanks.

How Much Would It Cost For Screw In Teeth?

Friday, May 3rd, 2013
Q.

How much would it cost for screw in teeth? My teeth are in bad condition and every time I get them fixed they just seem to be going the same way? The top ones are all rotting away, I can’t smile at anyone and I don’t even like speaking to people face to face in case they see my teeth, I work in a pretty busy shop and can’t even talk to the customers. Or other members of staff because of this, would be great if you could give me any information about screw in teeth and how to go about getting them a fixed. It really is hindering my day t day life and I just want a resolution to it because my confidence is taking a real battering at the minute. Hope you can help me somehow! Thanks.

My Two Orthodontic Consultations Have Conflicted With Each Other, Which Is Correct?

Monday, April 29th, 2013
Q.

Hi doctor!!

I have got a dental bridge done in my back upper tooth and also have an open bite.

I have been advised to have some orthodontic treatment as there is a slight overlap in my incisors and also the adjacent tooth are slightly smaller.

I have consulted two dentists and have got a little confused, hence the query.

While one says it can be sorted out by braces which will take 8-10 months or I can just get the front 4 teeth corrected by replacing my teeth with artificial ones which can enhance the smile, the other doctor is of the opinion that as I have a bridge, braces would be complicated and might take 2 years to correct the alignment or I can just get the front 4 tooth corrected by grinding them and placing veneers on top.

Also, I have read that veneer
s are not a good option for people who grind teeth at night and I am one of them.

Please suggest what should i do,.

Thanks in advance.

Do I Really Need To Get A Bridge?

Friday, April 26th, 2013
Q.

Hello there – I wonder if you can help. I am 50+ and have always retained 2 of my “baby” teeth (at the upper front) One of these recently broke (I have it reattached temporarily) and I would prefer an implant as opposed to a bridge. I have been advised that the gap will be too small to accommodate an implant…..I have been to a cosmetic dentist in Nottingham for a 2nd opinion and he also is of this opinion……Do I really need to resort to having a bridge? I’m not too ken to be perfectly honest. I would rather just have an implant but I thought I would ask you as well, hope to hear from you soon.  Many thanks – Kind regards.
