Will My Teeth Shift After The Problem I Had With My Braces?

Thursday, April 18th, 2013
Q.

Hello,
I had braces 7 years ago.
And after my braces, my dentist placed a permanent wire behind by top 4 incisors.
It snapped from the side, and when i went to see a different dentist, he removed the piece that was sticking out , and now the wire is only behind 3 incisors on the right. It worries me quite a bit because you know, it wasn’t my original dentist so maybe they have missed something crucial in understanding my south’s specific orthodontic needs and nuances. So basically, I am wondering if they’ve missed something, because the wire isn’t centered anymore, will it make my teeth shift?

Thank you in advance.

How Can I Increase The Size Of My Teeth After My Braces Are Removed?

Tuesday, April 16th, 2013
Q.

Hello, I was just wondering what options I have.
I currently have braces that have brought my teeth forward as they tilting into my mouth, but they will be coming off very soon.
I also have two peg teeth on either side of my front teeth which are going to be built up.
Unfortunately I don’t think I will be satisfied with my teeth after this as they are very small. What are my options for increasing the size of my front teeth?
Also are there any procedures that don’t require drilling the existing teeth?
Thank you very much for your time.

My Teeth Are Moving As I Have Not Worn My Retainer As Instructed, What Can I Do?

Monday, April 15th, 2013
Q.

I had braces on my top and bottom teeth and they were then removed after about 1-2 years. I was given clear retainers and I haven’t been following my routine for wearing retainers for my front teeth. For a while my front teeth were fine but now my right front tooth is moving closer to the left front tooth. I have a natural gap between my 2 front teeth and my dentist removed one of my molars so that my front teeth would move as my right front tooth used to go over my left front tooth. I have a small gap where my molar used to be and now a gap is being developed between my central incisor and my lateral incisor.
I have started wearing my retainers again for every night now for the last 2 weeks but my teeth are still moving.
What should I do?
Thank you for reading this and I will wait for your advice.

What Are The Cheapest Tooth Straightening Procedures?

Wednesday, April 10th, 2013
Q.

Hi, what is the cheapest way for teeth straightening? My teeth are crooked and it’s affect my diet, social interactions and confidence. I was quoted £3500 for the initial treatment of clear braces and an abstraction. As I also have a crowded mouth and more teeth coming through still. I would like to know if there is a cheaper alternative? For example metal braces. Really want some advice as I feel like all the dentists I have seen are trying to give me the best on offer but I don’t have the funds. Thanks for your time.

What Is Available To Help Me Straighten Just My Top Row Of Teeth?

Monday, April 8th, 2013
Q.

Hi, I just wanted to ask whether it is possible to get Invisalign braces for just the top set of teeth. And a rough idea about the cost for them… The bottom set of my teeth are fine and so are the top set however on the top set.. the two middle teeth are slightly different length.. just slightly… and the tooth after the one next to the middle teeth on the right hand side is higher then the rest of my other teeth.. so basically i just need them for the top set really. Also how many months will i need to keep them on for until the top set are straight… are they painful?

Can My Teeth Be Quickly Straightened Without Braces?

Thursday, March 28th, 2013
Q.

Hello Doctor

I would like to ask you a question, basically the situation is this. I have got front tooth which is little band and a few millimetres out. Overall though it is healthy tooth. However the problem is that it is quite visible thought when I open my mouth because it is right upfront and  I would like to ask you if it possible to straight it out without any braces and something can be done immediately. It is knocking my confidence somewhat and I’m just getting a bit sick of it really. Can you also let me know approximately the cost of the procedure? and the length of the procedure

Thank you.

My Daughter’s Teeth Are Still Moving Despite Her Fixed Braces, Is This Normal?

Tuesday, March 26th, 2013
Q.

Hi
My daughter is 16 and has had fixed braces twice now for protruding front teeth. after the first time she was told to wear retainers only in the evening for a year. during this year i noticed that her teeth had moved to their previous position before braces. after complaining to the orthodontists he again fitter fixed braces for a year after pulling 4 teeth. he has now taken the fixed braces off and given her the invisalign to wear only at night. she has been wearing the invisalign for 4 months and her teeth have moved forward again. he says that it is acceptable for them to protrude 4mm but i feel that after all this treatment they should be in line with the back teeth and not protrude at all. is 4mm acceptable or should she have further treatments? is invisalign the right way to go?

Can I Get Free Braces Because Of My Circumstances?

Tuesday, March 26th, 2013
Q.

Hi

I’m wondering if you can help me. I’m 30 and therefore I assume that I am too old for standard free dental treatment but my front teeth overlap and I have a 10mm overbite eye teeth that stick out and my lower teeth are also overcrowded! It’s a bit of a nightmare to be perfectly honest with you because I have trouble eating properly. It is beginning to affect me psychologically also as I look in the mirror and just hate my smile, so it deeply affects self confidence! Are there any circumstances under which I would get braces for free on NHS? I have taken the time out to do my research and looked into private treatment but can’t afford it at all unfortunately. The figures involved are simply too much.

Would It Be Risky For Me To Get Braces?

Tuesday, March 19th, 2013
Q.

Hi. I am a 34 yr old male considering invisalign for my top and bottom teeth. I am wondering if any dentist who is trained can do the job or if it is preferable to see an orthodontiist? Since it is computer generated, it seems fool proof. However I know someone who has had quite a bad experience with a dentist recently and they were having braces done to straighten teeth. it doesn’t really strike me as the kind of thing that one can mess up. Obviously I don’t know about these treatments though, it’s just that I hadn’t really heard of braces being a source of bad news from a dentist. It always has seemed like the safest treatment that they can offer you in my mind. I suppose on of my questions would be, is there any chance that my teeth can be realigned incorrectly by a dentist? And, also I am wondering if invisalign, clear correct and simpli5 are comparable products? Thank you.

My Overbite Is Quite Severe, Can I Go Straight For Jaw Breaking Option Without Braces First?

Thursday, March 14th, 2013
Q.

Hello.
I have an overbite but it’s like quite severe. My bottom teeth are straight and my top teeth are pretty much straight aswel. I have trouble with eating and speaking normally sometimes and since I am a teenager it is starting to put a real downer on my social life as I’m sure you can imagine. My confidence is getting knocked everytime I look in the mirror so I guess you could call it a severe problem for me. Since beginning to look at my options I have become slightly confused. I have been to a consultant and he said that the only option is to break my jaw but it will take a couple of years, I am 15, 16 in may. He also said that I would need braces first for about a year.
I was just wondering if it was possible to do this without having braces and just break my jaw? Also how long this procedure would take and how much it would cost? Thanks
