Would the Inman Aligner Be Suitable For Me And How Much Would It Cost?

Thursday, August 13th, 2015
Q.

Dear Dr Moore,

I would like to consider the Inman Aligner and have visited my local dentist to ask further about this treatment. I suffer from gingivitis and have lost a few of my back teeth due to grinding and an abscess. The front teeth are apparently healthy and I wondered if this treatment was adequate for me. Also could you please confirm the price range for such treatment (upper and lower teeth) as I have been quoted over £4000 having mild crowding on the bottom and one tooth slightly out at the top creating a gap, but the rest are aligned. Many thanks for your feedback.

There’s a Space Above My Invisalign Aligner Surface. Will it Affect My Treatment?

Friday, July 3rd, 2015
Q.

I’m on Invisalign treatment now on aligner number 14 out of 48. I just discovered that my front tooth is slightly chipped, about less than 2 mm. I noticed that one of my front teeth has become smaller and checked the fitness of my aligner. There’s an obvious space above the surface. I don’t experience any pain whatsoever but I’m worried that this will this affect my treatment. If so, what do I need to be prepared for?

Why Are My Teeth Protruding Again Even Though I Had Braces for Two Years?

Friday, June 12th, 2015
Q.

I had braces at the age of 23 (9 years back). My 4 premolars were removed. The braces were on for 2 years and afterwards retention plates were kept on for 6 months. Since the last 4 years, my front teeth have been protruding again. What is the reason for this? Is there any solution for it now? I went to my orthodontist, he said it is because I didn’t consult him earlier. Also, although my teeth are now protruding, not much of a gap has been created.

I Started my Treatment in India, Can I Continue it in London?

Wednesday, June 10th, 2015
Q.

Hi,

I got my clear fixed braces done in India on 22 May 2015 and wanted to continue my treatment in London.

I have got all my x-rays, teeth models and doctors’ reports.

I wanted to know the cost to continue with my braces treatment for the next 6 months and I would be going back after 6 months to India.

I wanted to get a quotation to continue my treatment of tightening of my braces.

Thanks.

Would a Brace Fix My Dental Problems?

Wednesday, May 27th, 2015
Q.

I’ve recently noticed that 1 of my front teeth is longer than the other one and is also slightly wonky, it looks really bad, I feel it will only get worse over time as I am still young. Would a brace fix this? Even though it’s just one tooth that’s the issue, and I think it’s the length as well. Also, the teeth surrounding my 2 big ones at the front are considerably smaller, which again look unnatural. I’ve heard about veneers and bonding, but I was wondering if there are any other options. And the costs of these!
My two front teeth at the bottom are not straight, as in they are growing towards each other and looking like they are pushing against each other. My dentist said it’s because of my wisdom teeth and to see a specialist if I’m concerned. Again, would a brace help here?
Many thanks.

Is It Possible to Have a Fixed Brace on My Upper Teeth and an Inman Aligner on My Bottom Teeth?

Tuesday, May 26th, 2015
Q.

Is it possible to have a fixed brace on the upper teeth and wear an Inman Aligner on the bottom teeth? I have had a mini online consultation and was advised for the top teeth only. I have a rotated left front tooth and crowding on the left upper side. Right below on the bottom row I have a small gap and also one on the opposite side on the lower teeth. I thought you had to have braces for both the top and bottom teeth. I would really like to have a removable aligner for the bottom if needed, could you please advise if this is possible?

Would an Inman Aligner Straighten My Teeth?

Friday, May 15th, 2015
Q.

Hello. My front two teeth are pushed out, they do not stick out over my lower lip or out my mouth but it does bother me and I can’t smile properly in photos because I don’t like my smile. My lower front teeth are also slightly crooked. Would an Inman Aligner be of any use to me? I’m very unsure on the use of braces, as  I don’t like the idea of them. I’m 17, and my teeth lower my confidence significantly. I am also scared of needles and tooth extractions, which is the reason I refused braces when I was younger. Thank you.

What Are The Differences Between Social 6 and Fast Braces?

Thursday, May 7th, 2015
Q.

Hi. I would like to know what’s the difference between Social 6 Lingual Braces and Fast Braces Other than where they are placed (back vs. front of the teeth)? I have some overcrowding at the top and the bottom and my front teeth stick out a little. Would either of these two treatments correct these problems? Thanks.

Can I Get Help with Payment for Braces if I’m on Jobseeker’s Allowance?

Thursday, May 7th, 2015
Q.

Can I get braces for free if I am on Jobseeker’s Allowance?

I asked my dentist for braces when I was 13 years old. I waited over a year for an appointment to get braces. When I went to attend my appointment, I was told that my appointment was made earlier and a letter was sent to my house. By this time I had moved house so I was not aware of the appointment change. Later I visited my dental surgery and it showed on the computer that my treatment had been done. Later I explained to my dentist and he gave me another appointment but I was told to get my braces done later at the dental hospital. Now I am 20 and receiving Jobseeker’s Allowance.

I have spoken to my dentist and was informed that I have to pay over £4000 to get braces and implants in place of extracted teeth.

Is there any way I can get it for free or get help with the cost as I am not working and it would take me years to save £4000?  Thank you for your time.

Would I Still Qualify for Free Braces with the NHS?

Tuesday, May 5th, 2015
Q.

I went to an orthodontist when I was 18 and they said I needed braces, but under his licence he could not give them to me because of my age and so sent me to an NHS hospital to get them done. I have a 6-9mm overbite and I was advised to have jaw alignment surgery, but I refused because I did not want to change the shape of my face. However I was still eligible for braces. The dentist took pictures of my teeth and took scans and a cast.

However, at that time I was taking exams and so could not discuss any further as the appointments interrupted my revision/exam time. I am now in university and still want the braces. Is my condition serious enough for free braces or could it still be counted as cosmetic?
