My Tooth Is Breaking Below The Gum, Can You Fix It?

Friday, March 22nd, 2013
Q.

hello, recently I have been experiencing problems with chewing, one of my teeth feels unstable and as though it could just fall to pieces. So I went to the dentist and they told me that I have had a tooth breaking (partly below gum line I am told), it is my upper left 4th one.  So I’d like to know really how likely is it that I find a dentist who will rebuild it?  I am reluctant to have the third tooth overcrowned as it has no filling so far and I can’t afford an implant this year and possibly not next – …
– would you agree with the option of a nesbit or should I go for a bridge (if I can’t find a dentist to rebuild) I have tried 2 so far and they just shook their heads).
Many thanks to you in advance for replying.

My Upper Molars Have Been Filled And Now My Teeth Are Moving Apart, I Don’t Want Braces, Help?

Thursday, March 14th, 2013
Q.

Doc, due to my consumption of sugary intake whilst at young age has caused me to have few of my upper molars drilled n filled n some taken out n because of that my up front teeth seem to be moving apart making spaces that i never had few years ago. Some of my family have recommended me i wear braces but i thought can’t wear braces in refilled teeth and also due to feeling embarrassment it is not something that i want to really do as people will see them all the time. What would you recommend me to do?

My Teeth Are Not Healthy Enough To Support A Bridge, Is A Denture My Only Option?

Friday, March 8th, 2013
Q.

I am a 37 year old who has suffered from severe tooth decay over the last 7 years and am looking for some independent advice. I have always looked after my appearance and been confident but am becoming increasingly self conscious of my missing teeth to the extent that I don’t smile in public or on photos with my children. I also find eating very difficult and am concerned about future consequences to my health and appearance. I would like to investigate any affordable options.
I have lost most of my back teeth at the top with only 7 teeth at the front top (6 veneered and one bridge). Upper right I have only one tooth at the back and upper left only two teeth at the back. My lower teeth are present except one (lower right) although they have been heavily filled/crowned.
I have been advised by my NHS dentist that my only options are implants (which I understand to be very expensive) or a denture as my teeth are inadequate to support a bridge. He recently tried to fit a metal denture to fill the gaps with no success and has advised an acrylic denture is the only option. I really am reluctant to have a denture and this is what has led me to contact you. Is it the only option? Many Thanks.

I Am At University And Unhappy With My Smile, How Do I Get This Fixed?

Thursday, March 7th, 2013
Q.

Hello, I’m very un happy with my smile. My two top front teeth are quite large, but they are square at least, the problem is the two next to them go back a little and are much smaller, which then makes me look a bit goofy! Also the two either side of them, (incisors? i think) come forward a bit and are still a lot smaller and very pointy so when i bite together there are gaps inbetween them and my bottom teeth. Im not sure weather much can be done within my price range, i am a 21 year old student at university and im not sure what the deal is with paying for dental care now, however they are making me very un happy so am willing to work hard to try and get them sorted. if you could perhaps give me a idea of what sort of treatment would work for this i would be very grateful. Im sorry its quite hard to explain, but if i could perhaps send a photo of my teeth to explain better. that would be brilliant too. Thank you

Smoking Has Stained My Already Crooked Teeth, What Treatments Are There For Me?

Wednesday, March 6th, 2013
Q.

hi dr I wanted to ask how much will it cost all together to fix my teeth which is stained really bad from cigarettes, I have been smoking for a long time maybe 15 years or more and it is horrible to have a yellow tint on your teeth. Also I think that the bottom row needs to be straightened? I may need braces for the bottom row, basically I need a full teeth whitening or I think you call it bleaching? I am in a bad way over my teeth and think that lots of treatment is needed all over, am not really show about filling but I would like the full top and bottom fixed please and whatever else that needs to be fixed which i dont know about my teeth… thank you

My Teeth Are Pushing Further Forwards, What Treatment Is Best?

Tuesday, March 5th, 2013
Q.

hi i was just wondering if you could hep me. I am currently 27 years old and am unhappy with my teeth due to the fact that i was a thumbsucker untill about the age of 23. Although i had a brace as a child so do have quite straight teeth i can see that they are now further frward than they were and wondered if its possible to get them pushed back at all or what options there wud be to deal with them. As i say i have only had slight movement from one of my teeth in terms of crossing and do therfore have a straight smile but just generally would like them moving back si they are less dominant as i only have a fairly small face..
Any advise or help would be appreciated thankyou.
