can you tell me what the long term effects would be of not having my infected tooth removed?

Q.
I have a continuing infection in a tooth which has had root canal treatment several years ago. There is considerable bone loss now and the tooth gets loose and then tightens up again when the infection has passed. My dentist recommends that I have the tooth removed but I am a bit of a coward. Could you advise me what the long term effects are if I do not have the tooth removed. I have heard that it could cause me to become very ill if I allow it to continue.

Would you leave an infection in another part of the body untreated? Its always advisable to remove the tooth if the infection is untreatable as the infection could spread and will cause loss of bone in and around the root of the tooth.

Hi I had my teeth cleaned regularly but have become extremely sensative in the last few years. I had a terrible experience with usual dentist where she gave me injections with such force it was unbearable and the liquid went into my mouth, I was shaking like a leaf. This was done to clean my teeth and I still felt it on the bottom teeth. Can you help if I come to you? Many thanks
