Can You Tell Me If Polycarbonate Braces Are Better Than Damon Braces?

Q.
I visited a dentist recently for RCT and cap, I have been toying with the idea of getting braces and so I started some research and came across damon/damon clear, etc.  So when I asked him about it he said that he uses polycarbonate braces which are advanced and a bit cheaper. I came back and when I searched I couldn’t find anything about polycarbonate being better than Damon, I have another visit scheduled tomorrow, what are the questions I need to ask him before I go through with it? I also read that plastic braces contain BPA and it increases over time. I am confused, any help is appreciated.

Hello. Thank you for getting in touch. I would seek a second opinion from a specialist orthodontist who offers Damon – Damon are excellent and we use them in my practice. I am not familiar with the other bracket suggested, so I cannot offer advice on this. You can familiarise yourself with the Damon system through this websites search engine. I hope this helps you. Kind regards, Mark.
