Can You Tell Me If I Can Get My Crown Down Under General Anaesthetic? Sedation Doesn’t Work For Me.

Q.
Hi Dr Moore. Can you please advise me whether I would be able to have a general anaesthetic to have a crown done? I am extremely nervous and cannot bring myself to have it done even under sedation as this has not worked for me in the past. It is a tooth at the front that has broken before and my dentist has suggested a crown to fix it permanently. I really am very nervous and was even in tears yesterday just at the though of going to my dentist for her to have a look at it. I know this will probably be very expensive but it is the only way I feel that I can go through with it.

Hi, hello. Many people suffer from dental phobia and leave urgent treatment to get worse, so I’m glad you’ve sought out my help for this problem. I would advise you to source the web for clinics in your area. Some may offer just sedation, so you would have to ring them up and find out if you can have a general anaesthetic during your crown treatment. I hope this helps. Dr Andrew Moore.
