can you give me some advice on lumineers
Q. Hello, I’m thinking of getting lumineers, and I would like to know what exactly is the process. From what I understand, they’re veneers that are placed on top of someone’s existing teeth, correct? Also, are they removable during the process or until final results (if at all)? Thank you,
A. If you are thinking about having lumineers be very careful, they are not suitable for everyone. They are marketed well but can be frought with downfalls. You need to go have a consultation with a proper cosmetic or restorative dentist. If a dentist only has training in lumineers then do not go to them. A cosmetic dentist needs to ahve training in conventional veneers, crowns, bridges, bite problems so they are able to give you all of the options and you can make a proper informed decision. Even though lumineers are fused to unprepared teeth they cannot be taken off unless drilled and it is not a reversible process. Definately explore other options
Kind Regards
