Can you ease my worries about possibly needing to get bone graft?

Q. Im in the process of having an implant done. My only concern is my gum above my missing tooth has a deep dent in it(resulting from a fall). What are my options on bone grafting. And very worried about were this bone is coming from if thats what i need. The dentist has said he wont know what he will beable to do ie an implant an implant with bone or a bone graft then 6 months an implant. wont the x-rays give enough information? Also he’s said this will take 2 -2and half hours while im sudated. Any information you can help me with would be great. Many thanks,
A. he could take a CT scan for more information if you are worried about whether to have the bone graft or not. He could take the graft from the lower jaw either the chin or around the lower back teeth.
