Can Old Veneers Be Removed Or Filed Down? Mine Are Too Thick And Don’t Match The Rest Of My Mouth.

Q.
Can old veneers be removed?
Many years ago I had them fitted and they have always looked too thick. I would like to know if they can be filed down to look slimmer.

I have never had the nerves or the money to do anything about this as I used to suffer from panic attacks and could not face the thought of going to the dentist.

It would be more affordable to me if the teeth I have now could sort of be modernised, like skimmed down so I don’t look as though my teeth are so thick.

They don’t seem to suit the rest of my teeth.

At the time I paid £500 pounds for them at a dentist in Manchester.

I had the teeth done as a result of domestic violence and one tooth was chipped but the other was perfectly okay.

However the dentist said I should have the two of them done for a better result?

I would appreciate your help and guidance.

Kindest regards.

Hello. Once you start drilling porcelain it has a high chance of cracking and chipping, it will definitely weaken them, the only option to really consider is to have them replaced with new veneers that better suit your mouth and smile. Thank you for your question. Kind regards, Dr Riten Patel.
