Can my daughter switch to a private orthodontist despite already having a lower brace fitted on the NHS?
Q.
My 15 year old daughter has just had a metal brace fitted to her lower teeth on the NHS and is due to have one fitted to her upper teeth in January. Having seen the lower one, I would like the top one to be the ceramic tooth coloured type. Can I still now switch to private treatment to have this done?

A.
You can definately change for the upper teeth and have these done privately. What I would suggest is that you and your daughter visit a private orthodontist for a full consultation. At this appointment the orthodontist would be able to advise you if you should continue the lower teeth with the NHS dentist or if you can change and have it all done with the private orthodontist.
