Can implants be done to gums having disease?

Q. Dear Mr Moore, After looking after my teeth all my life, I was told on Friday I am going to loose not one but all my teeth due to gum disease. I am 44 and still young. My question is can I have Dental Implants with gum disease? I am so upset at the momant maybe now isnt the best time to ask…:( Thank you for any help.

A. Hello, If you still have bone then you could place implants to restore the teeth either with a denture or fixed porcelain teeth. You would need a CT scan to measure the bone, ask your dentist to arrange this or feel free to contact me if you need any further advice.
