Can I wear a temporary veneer and retainers at the same time?

Q.
Hi,

I just had a temporary veneer cap in today as my tooth was badly stained.

Does the temporary veneer cap should look slightly bigger and thicker than the original tooth?

I do have retainers from my fixed braces that i still wear to keep my teeth in place, can i still wear them retainers or is it best to leave it as it may not fit my original teeth which was moulded?

What precautions should i take as I have had this temporary cap?

When I do have the permenant veneers done which will be on the 15th June, will they look at normal natural as my original tooth? as in not thicker and bigger than this temporary veneer cap i have on at this moment.

Hi
Veneer temporararies can be thicker but ultimately this is decided by how the temporaries have been manufactured,
It is always best to wear your retainer as not wearing it could affect the fit of the veneers.
Food with heavy food colouring and aggressive flossing is to be avoided.
With regards to the cosmetics of the final veneer this depends on the skill and expense of the technician.if this is an Nhs veneer do not expect the cosmetics to be any good. The more expensive private veneers will look more natural but are obviously more expensive. A single tooth veneer is one of the hardest things to match in dentistry .
I would advise you to have a chat with your dentist.
