Can I Replace My Veneers With Crowns?

Q.
I have had veneers on 8 of my top and 6 bottom teeth 10 years ago before my wedding. However as my bite is the wrong way round ie my bottom teeth coming over my top when my jaw is clenched together, the upper veneers occasionally come off. i would like them replaced with crowns as they bulge here and there also in comparison to the remaining teeth. What would be the likely costs of replacing all of my veneers with crowns please? I want them a more natural colour and also a more natural shape than what I have at the moment but of course still white!
A.
The costs very much depend on the quality of the treatment result, the complexity of your case and the experience and skill of the cosmetic dentist and laboratory technician that makes the veneers and crowns. One other factor that may need to be considered is orthodontic intervention – this is often employed to correct the bite and tooth position before placement of the veneers and porcelain. If this is carried out costs of course would increase. It’s impossible to give you an accurate figure but if you want really excellent treatment you’ll pay approximately £700-over 1000 per porcelain restoration with orthodontics coming in from £4000-8000 for full mouth treatment.

Joanne Langford Says :

Thank you very much for your response. With regards to the orthodontics side of things I feel reluctant to have this done now when I have already had the opportunity of having this done when I was in my teens at the Royal London Dental Institute, Whitechapel . (and wish very much that I had done so. I am now approaching 50 yrs of age) I did anticipate that the price of the crowns would fall in to the region of costs you have stated and will consider the same. One last question though:- “do you do gum re-shaping thus to enable me to have a preferred shape of tooth or is this not necessary seeing as I wish to have crowns now as opposed to vaneers?
