Can I put my own temporary filling in the tooth with the large hole?

Q. Hello I am due to get my 2 remaining widom teeth out under GA in 2 weeks. One of my wisdoms has a large decayed hole which is just starting to hurt. I was thinking about plugging the cavity with a self administered temporary filling to stop it hurting for 2 weeks. Do you think this is wise?,
A. You could try it i’m sure it won’t do any harm for 2 weeks, or ask your dentist to pop something in
