Can I have old fillings replaced with white fillings?

Q. If I have normal fillings, can I have these taken out and have white fillings put in, instead,
A. Yes – for large fillings I would advise porcelain fillings and for smaller ones composite white fillings

question I have recently had root canal treatment on a crown, I have always paid private for my treatment but due to my daughters illness I am no longer able and going to nhs dentist, I have been found to be highly allergic to nickel on have be told a crown in gold but not 9ct with a white porcelain finish, so that the crown would still be white but gold underneath would be best for me, is it possible to have this done on the nhs on how much would it cost. Thankyou
