Can I have my teeth filed down?

Q. Hi, I am curious as to whether it is possible to have teeth- for want of a better phrase- filed down. I have an overbite, and while it is not too noticable, i would be interested if perhaps the front 4 of the top row could me shortened slightly, to bring them level witht eh rest of the top row. Regards, Steven,
A. Hello Steven The teeth can be filed down a small amount but too much will make them sensitive. If they need radical adjustment then you will need veneers placing on the teeth after they are filed.

I was also curious about filing my teeth, to make them level with the rest, how much is it possible to file, as too much leads to sensitivity, so how much is too much?

It depends upon the position of your teeth. It is very important not to shorten teeth too much. It can lead to other functional problems which then can impact the overall health of your mouth.

Hello, I have a question about the length of my teeth. My two front teeth are longer then the rest. I’m getting braces soon and I was wondering if braces can fix this problem. If not what can make my teeth all the same length?

Your orthodontist will address this if he is on top of his game. Do not allow for shortening the front teeth! It can create problems.
