Can I have mini implants in my upper jaw to support my dentures?

Q. Hello, I have dental implants in my lower jaw to hold a fixed bridge and its been great. I could’nt have conventional implants in my upper jaw as the bone at the front of my palate was too thin. It is thicker at the sides and the back. I have just found out about mini implants, can you have them installed if the bone is thin, or do you need thick bone as with conventional implants. I would just like them in my upper jaw to support the upper denture, it would give me more confidence. Thanks Karen,
A. The research on Mini Implants is limited and at this time I would not recommend them. I you do not have enough bone I would recommend grafting the floor of your sinus to allow you to have enough bone for implants
