Can I Have Implants Fitted Privately and Then a Bridge and Crowns on the NHS?

Q.
Dear doctor. I have no teeth in the upper jaw and only 5 teeth in the lower jaw. I am unemployed and have been told that I can get a bridge and crowns on the NHS. Would I be able to have implants fitted privately and allow the NHS to fit the bridge and crowns? My parents are willing to help me with the cost of just the implants. Please help me as I have trouble wearing dentures. And I also have quite a few medical conditions. Thank you.
A.
Hi, thank you for your question. I’m afraid it doesn’t work like that as the crowns would need to be custom-made to the implants and require a special impression technique and lab work that isn’t available on the NHS. I’m sorry about that. Kind regards, Andrew.
