Can I Have a Tooth Removed and Replaced with a New One?

Q.
Hello. I had braces treatment when I was around 18 – 19. I am 25 now and I have this one tooth that is slowly going behind my main top tooth. I don’t want braces again, but I am happy with anything but braces. Can you remove and insert a new tooth? also my teeth don’t overbite, I think I needed jaw surgery but my dentist didn’t push it.

Thank you.

Hello, thank you for getting in touch. It’s difficult to say without really seeing you and taking x-rays etc. Reimplantation of another tooth is not a routine procedure nor predictable and there may be better options. It would be best to see a very experienced cosmetic or restorative dentist to discuss all your options, and one of those may well be orthodontics.

Best wishes, Mark.
