Can I get my smile back with porcelain teeth

Q. I have had gum recession for years and am very long in the tooth! I also have lost teeth but thankfully not front ones. Can I get my smile back with porcelain teeth, will I have to have painful surgery or will I just have to have false teeth. I would travel to England for treatment

A. You need to make sure that you don’t have gum disease. This could be a reason for your recession and tooth loss. It is possible to have porcelain teeth placed on your existing ones and implants where you have lost the teeth. If they have been missing for a while, bone grafts may be necessary. We would only be able to tell by seeing you and taking x-rays.
Implant placement is not painful and neither is bone grafting as everything is done under local anaesthetic. If you are nervous then sedation can be offered so that you don’t remember any of the treatment. You are sore and a little swollen afterwards.
If you are going to travel to the UK to have the treatment done and you would like to come for a consultation we can arrange for transportation from the airport to the practice. If you are interested in coming for a consultation it would be better to e-mail the practice at komal@smiledesigndental.co.uk and the appointment and travel arrangements can be made
