Can I fix the gap in the back of my teeth consider plaque?

Q. Hello, If your reading this, THANK YOU for taking the time to answer my question. Ever since my last dental visit I noticed this gap in the back of my four bottom front teeth. Before it started to bother me I noticed a white lining around the bottom of my teeth (just on the bottom four in the front) It wasn’t until the other day that it started to bother me really bad. My tongue will NOT stop playing with the gap in the back of my two front teeth. I hope I didn’t make it worse by trying to figure out what it was. I can stick my fingernail between the gap and under my teeth where the white lining was on my teeth. I think I picked the white stuff off. My guess, it would be plaque.(I thought that stuff was hard to get off) How much would I be looking at to fix the gap in the back of my teeth? AGAIN THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME YOU WOULD BE HELPING ME SO MUCH WITH A REPLY.

A. I would advise a thourough hygienist appt -if it is residual plaque/calculus it will be removed and the teeth polished if it is a cavity you will be advised accordingly
