Can I find dental implant treatment for £1500?

Q.
Hi,

I am 20 years old and I recently cracked my baby tooth. I went to the dentist and was told that there is not an adult tooth underneath my current tooth and therefore will need the implant to placed. The tooth is the middle bottom tooth.

How much will it cost to get an implant placed? I checked a local periodontist, and to have one tooth placed it costs £2200, which is rather expensive. I am looking for treatment that will cost £1500 or less. Furthermore, how long is the whole process from consultation until the end of treatment?

Thank You

A.
Hello and thank you for your enquiry.

The cost of implants can vary a great deal and generally will depend on the quality of the result you wish for, the experience and qualifications of the dentist, the quality of the actual implants (you may have been reading about the PIP breast implant scandal well there are lots of inferior quality implants out there which may be poorly made or researched) and the complexity of the case. It would be very unusual to be able to find an implant solution for £1500 or less. The highest quality treatment would normally cost anywhere from £3000-£4000 with the best specialists in Central London.

Of course your fee will depend on your particular individual needs and I think it would be wise to speak to several dentists and definitely have consultations with experts to ensure you get the best treatmetn possible.

For a fee as low as £1500 you may have to look at alternative options such as removable bridges , bonded bridges or a fixed bridge and again the cost and result will depend on all the aspects of quality I have mentioned above

I hope that helps

My dentist has quoted me £4,800 for two implants in lower premolar regions. Is this quote high, low or average? I think it sounds a lot as the complete job is going to cost £10,312 in total.
