Can I do something bout my bridge without replacement?
Q. Hi doctor, I’ve had a bridge for 25 years since I knocked my front tooth out as a kid. It’s porcelin and metal. I’ve always taken good care of it. Now the tops of the bridge around the edges are rimmed black. Is there anything I can do without getting it replaced, I have no dental insurance?
A. >hi many thanks for your enquiry, unfortunately as the gums have receeded you can now see the metal margins of the bridge work which happens eventually with all metal porcelain work. by the sounds of it your bridge is due for replacement. you could decide to have a all porcelain bridge placed which would then improve the look of the margins long term. hope this is helpful.
