can i close the space that gum loss has caused

Q. I have gum loss between my two front teeth. The periodontist says it is too small a space to do a gum graft. Is there anything I can do that would cover the space? I know it is small and not obvious to others but it is to me.

A. The best thing for you would either be to have white filling material placed to close the space or to have veneers placed on your front 2 teeth. White fillings are less destructive but will discolour with time and therefore need to be replaced. Veneers last much longer, look better but they are more expensive. If you ask your dentist to place the white fillings first you can see wheher you like them. If not you won’t have lost anything and you could then have veneers
