Q. I have an overbite (due to sucking my thumb when little) My teeth are slightly discoloured and the front two are slightly too large for my face. I was wondering if crowns could be used to lessen the overbite and shape my teeth, as I don’t think I can go through braces again (I had a very bad experience with block braces to widen my arch…which ended in me not wearing it.) Cost isn’t an issue, but before I go to my dentist I wanted a fist opinion. Many thanks
A. Hello, crowns might help but you cannot reduce the overbite significantly without using a brace.
I would be very happy to take a look for you. Please feel free to contact my clinic on 01245 268 494 to arrange a visit to discuss your options. Regards Andrew
