Can bad gums cause sore throat as mine is always red?

Q. could bad teeth and gums give you a bad throat, because my throat is red all the time

A. Dear S,

There is no obvious connection between a red throat and bad teeth/bad gums. The usual cause of a red throat is infection from a virus, bacteria or fungus ( Candida ). A long standing red throat should be checked out by your GP and treated accordingly. If you haven’t already done so please go and see your doctor to have this examined.
