Can an extracted wisdom tooth be used to replace another?
Q.
Hi,
Hi,
Is it true wisdom teeth can be reused, I have to have an extraction but also have a wayward wisdom tooth needing removal – is it possible to put the wisdom tooth into where the extracted tooth was and avoid the cost of a dental implant.
Thanks.
A.
Dear Enquirer,
No this is not possible.

Dear, doc my wisdom teeth are coming in and i wanted to know if i had to get them cut and if i didnt get them out would they cause me trouble.
If they become impacted and the overlying gum becomes infected they will may need to be removed
Hi! I had a wisdom tooth extraction 3 years ago at my lower gum. That area has been swelling all these while and normal dentists were unable to tell me why. May I know how can I seek a solution for it? The feeling of having something stuck in my mouth is pretty discomforting. As the dentists suspect that some parts of the tooth is left in there, X-trays has been taken by the dentists but nothing is shown on the image. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
It could be inflammation of the gum caused by a boney defect. Perhaps you could ask your dentist to refer you to the local oral surgery department for a second opinion?
Hi, had a upper wisdom tooth out 7 weeks ago, and a fairly large chunk of root was left in since dentist said was close to sinus. Apparently has healed properly, but i noticed to solid lumps on each side of extraction side (feels like bone structure). Does not hurt when i press on it. On the opposite side of the jaw, i do not have the lumps Could this be the root being rejected by the body or is this the gum tissue turning into bone. Thank you
Its probably just the bone socket healing but if you’re not sure maybe have an x-ray taken to check.
I have myeloma cancer one of my treatments has been an infusion of a bio phosphate called zoledronate. I have a problem with a wisdom tooth.Do I have any option than to have wisdom tooth out, only the complication with having a tooth out are quite considerable.
Its very important that any treatment you have be done in conjunction with your oncologist and a specialist dental department. Having had bisphosphonate infusions there is a serious risk of getting a very unpleasant condition where the jaw never heals after an extraction . Extractions should be avoided at all costs . It may be that the problem with your wisdom tooth can be managed with antibiotics . Get advice as soon as possible.
My teeth are very overcrowded and i have two fangs growing in my upper gum. I’m extremely scared of having any type of dental treatment, i just wanted to get a bit more of an understanding about the operation that takes place to remove these fangs? Is there an option to have general anesthetic? What will my gums look like after having them removed, will they ever completely heal or will i have a small hole in my gums? How painful is the treatment, i’ve heard some horror stories about this kind of thing. Do you recommend going private or can i get this through the NHS? Any answers will be gladly recieved, Thanks!!
procedure can be done via an NHS oral surgery dept. Dentist would need to refer. can be done under GA or IV sedation. Hole seals over good luck
