Can a Filling Make You Feel Unwell Afterwards?
Q.
Dr Moore, have you ever seen patients complain of illness after a composite dental filling was placed? I had a filling done behind my front tooth and have been feeling very unwell ever since. I felt absolutely fine before the filling was placed but since then have been getting very bad headaches, brain fog and a general feeling of un-wellness. The material used was called Venus Flow but I am told it cannot be removed. Can a tooth be removed to rid the problem if the material is impossible to remove? Thanks.

Hi, thank you for your question. I’m doubtful it’s the filling material, but it could be the bite that needs adjusting. The filling could be removed and replaced with a different material if adjusting the bite doesn’t help. Regards, Andrew.
