Can a dentist file my ‘fang’ like teeth?

Q.
Hi,

I have a crooked smile but I think the main problem is that two of my teeth are ‘sharpened’ i.e. into a fanglike shape from years of wearing….is it possible to have teeth filing services to cure this?

Secondly I have already undertaken a brace course in my teens, I believe my teeth became crooked after my teeth failed to ajust to my post treatment retainer, in summary I think my smile is now too far forward (i.e. a rabbit smile) is it easy to push teeth back?

Kind regards

Hi and thanks for getting in touch

To answer your first question, the simple answer is yes, that it may be possible to use a ‘recontouring’ technique to make the appearance of your pointy teeth more appealing. There is a limit as to what would be safe but often a small alteration makes a big difference to their appearance. There may be other options too.

Secondly,a further course of orthodontic treatment could resolve your ‘rabbit smile’. Some modern ‘invisible braces’ treatments may be suitable for you.

As to how difficult or easy it might be then we’d have to assess that once you came for a consultation (which is complimentary usually for Invisible braces)

hope that answers your questions and maybe see you for that consultation one day

Kind regards

Mark
