hey there i wanna know basically if tooth whitening and bleaching are the same things??????
my second question is, do i appreciates my relatives to have a treatment of tooth bleaching? what are the side effects?
some people says that tooth whitening or bleaching has many side effects..like hypersensitivity..
my mother has a problem o chipping of enamel surface..she used to take smokeless tobacco..but she experienced chipping of enamel when she lefts taking smokeless tobacco ( beatle nuts, paan) i found this strange as i thought it would cause less damage..so what is the reason behind this? does she has a favourable effects for taking paan at this stage? please do reply i’m also a dental student

There are never any beneficial effects to eating pan only the increased chance of oral cancer .

Whitening does cause sensitivity but this is only temporary if done properly and over time .
The chipping enamel will have some other aetiology.
