Are dental implants painful?
Q. Is implanting a painful procedure. Do you feel pain after the very first day?
A. On the whole implant treatment is surprisingly pain free. There are exceptions but usually it is far more comfortable the following day than after a difficult tooth removal. Fortunately bone has very few nerve endings and the implants are placed in a very gentle way. We recommend 24 hours of pain killers following the surgery but it is not uncommon for our patients not to have to take them.
