Am I too young for veneers and do they hurt

Q. In relation to veneers, do they hurt ? and also, could a 16 year old get veneers or would they be too young?

A. On the whole veneers tend to be the most minimally invasive porcelain cosmetic restoration. As such it is unusual to endanger the underlying nerve. For this reason the treatment is usually painless with occasional transient sensitivity to temperature change.

The younger a patient is the larger the nerves inside their teeth tend to be. This is the limiting factor in providing veneers- 16 years old may be too young but a proper radiographic assessment by a dentist could verify whether the treatment was a good or a bad idea.
