Am I too old for cosmetic dentistry i dont want to wear dentures

Q. Dear Dr. Caplan, I am in my late 70’s and still have my own teeth with the exception of some back ones. I also have some crowns. I want to avoid having to wear dentures as my teeth gradually deteriorate and wonder if I should have some cosmetic treatment now so I will never need dentures. What is your opinion on this please? Thank you.

A.

You are never too old to have cosmetic dentistry.  Provided your general health is reasonable implants may be a good solution to solve your missing teeth.  The remaining teeth can be greatly improved using porcelain veneers  and crowns to improve their look and their function. At my practice we offer a free cosmetic consultaion and you would be more than welcome to come in to see me.
