Q. Hi, i have been having deep cleaning every 3 months for the past 18 months, due to gum desease, the last time i went, i left the practice my bottom front teeth felt funny, what has happened is they have moved i can feel the ridge behind them and i cant stop grinding and running my tonge across them its driving me nuts, i have been back sevral times for them to file the back but to no avail, could you please, advise me kind regards

A. It is impossible to know what is happening here without seeing your teeth, it could feel rough where they removed tartar. if the teeth are loose as a result of the gum disease then the tooth could have moved and is now irritating your tongue.

I know exactly what you are going through. Several month ago, I had my teeth deep cleaned. The hygienist went too deep above the gums on the back of my front teeth. This left ridges that can only be described as feeling like a cheese grater. Initially, it left small white bumps on the front of my tongue. Bumps are gone now, but I keep running my tongue over the ridges, and it’s very distracting! feels like I can cut my tongue on them if they rub on them the wrong way. Also because of the ridges, my mouth excessively salivates. Any advice out there?
