Q. Hi Dr. I have about three cavities and need my wisdom teeth out as they are growing towards the rest of my teeth so are causing discomfort. I also have gum disease and is making me uncomfortable in social situations. what im considering is having dental implants and having my wisdom teeth extracted also, but will this get rid of my breath and gum problems and can you give me some sort of price?
A. You coud consider implants for the missing or soon to be missing teeth although I doubt you need them to replace your wisdom teeth. However if you have an underlying problem with your gums you will need gum treatment first. This normally comprises visits with your Dentist and Hygienist, this is more likely to help your gum and breath problems than implants.
