Advice for teeth straightening in West Wales
Q. I am 32 years old, my teeth at the front top and bottom over lap baddly. I have decay on the gum line and discoloured teeth. I use a phillips sonic tooth brush and all the usual and have for years. I have not looked at my teeth in a mirror for 2 years. 2 days ago I bit a label of a new jumper and a chip came of my bottom tooth! I have asked a number of dentists about straightning my teeth (as they comment that they are bad and why had nothing been done when I was younger) but they tell me I will have to go somewhere else and offer no advice! What can I do about my soft enamel? Where do I go for advice about straightning my teeth? I live in West Wales and dont want to travel to London. Help me please, Thanks

it is not a question of soft enamel. If you have decay at your gum line this would indicate erosion of some sort. This could be from stomach acids or diet.
The question I have is how can you not haved looked at your teeth for 2 years!
Whenever you brush your teeth you should look at them afterwards so that you know that they are clean! The fact that you use a sonic toothbrush will not exempt you from decay.
My advice would be to go and see adentist straight away and see ahygienist so that they can show you how to look after your teeth in the right way. If you would like your teeth straightened then braces is always an option but your oral hygiene regime will have to be much more vigorous
