Could invisalign correct small gaps in the front teeth?

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010
Q.
My 17 year old daughter has had a brace fr thre years to realign her teeth, she also had an extraction at the side. as her prom was looming she asked if thebrace could be removed, (huge mistake ) she now has a small gap betwen her two front teeth> Could an invisible brace be used to correct this or would it create a further gap at the side. Many thanks,

I’m experiencing some pain from my new dental corwns, what should I do?

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010
Q.
Hi Dr. Tennet, I recently had crowns on teeth#8&9. They are quite painful and sore, is this normal? They were put on about three weeks ago, what do you suggest I do? Thanks, Also I noticed that on tooth#8, my natural tooth is showing under the crown, and at the gumline the crown is quite rough as well.,

I’m thinking about having my crowns replaced, would the dentist have to file of more of my teeth?

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010
Q.
I am thinking of having old crowns replaced after 20 odd years.because they look very dull. Would the dentist have to file off more of my teeth when old crowns removed, or not necessessarily? Apart from the dullness of the crowns I am having no problems with them. I just thought all ceramic ones would be an improvement and have amore translucent look but not at the expense of having any more of the teeth filed off. Thanks in anticipation,

Are there any alternatives to dental veneers which are affordable?

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010
Q.
Hello, I had a porcelain veneer put in last year but some of it has now chipped off. As the enamel from that tooth has been ground down is there any alternative to veneers which are affordable? (My dentist has said that a crown would not be possible on that tooth due to there not being enough original tooth left)

Are there any options available to me at a reasonable cost which would enable me to have fixed teeth?

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010
Q.
I have an upper precision attachment denture which has nine teeth on it, the main front five teeth are crowned. I only have seven front lower teeth so have no back teeth on which to eat. My mouth has been like this for at least 15 yrs. Are there any options available to me at a reasonable cost which would enable me to have fixed teeth.,

I don’t want my new crown to look too high, what should I do?

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010
Q.
Hello. I had an old PFM crown on my peg lateral removed because it had a dark line showing at the gum and has caused an amalgam tattoo. I currently have a temporary crown while waiting for my permanent. My dentist removed some of the gum (contouring?) because it sat much lower than the surrounding teeth. To me, it looks like she removed too much. She said she did that on purpose because the gum comes down after the procedure. It has been two weeks and it is still high. I believe she made a mistake. I asked another dentist on this site and he said it is true that the gum generally comes down. How can that be? I am nervous because my amalgam goes up so high under my gum that I don’t want my new crown to either look too high or show the amalgam. I went 20 years with a bad crown and was looking forward to a nice new one.,
