My two front teeth have moved forward, is this because of the new lingual brace?

Thursday, March 18th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I had an upper lingual brace fitted two weeks ago and had extractions before as my teeth are overcrowded. However, it seems as though one of my front two teeth has moved further forward! is this possible or am I just being paranoid? And how long does it generally take for the gap to close? Would really appreiciate a reply – many thanks,

Tooth extraction which will cause a gap or smaller implants to fill gap?

Thursday, March 18th, 2010
Q.
Since child, I had this small tooth stuck in between my two front teeth, almost 7mm. I do not know what to do. Extracting will leave a big gap. I actually asked my dentist and she mentioned that we have to remove one of my front teeth and insert two smaller implants to fill the gap. What to do best?,

What is the cheapest option to have front teeth pushed back?

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010
Q.
I have had a retainer for years to push my front teeth back at night. But now the retainer won’t stay in and doesn’t seem to work and I need a treatment to push my front teeth back but I’m worried about the cost – what’s the cheapest and hopefully permanent solution? Cheers!,

Should I get two implant or just have bridge done?

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010
Q.
I am a female, 21 years of age. I have a hereditary problem where I have missing permanent teeth under 6 of my deciduous teeth. Before my orthodontist put braces on me, he pulled out 6 of my deciduous teeth as through as X ray, he could tell that they were weak and the roots were not really firm/stable. 1 deciduous tooth was pulled out in the top right part of my mouth, and another 1 at the bottom right part of my mouth. Both of them are at the same location if you count from the mid line of my mouth. 2 other teeth were pulled out from the top left part of my mouth and another 2 right below it, on the lower jaw. My doctor told me that I have to get 2 implants put in on the upper and lower left side of the jaw (where 4 teeth were pulled out) as the gap cannot be closed by just braces. Well, technically it is possible but the midline would shift, causing my smile to be ugly. In conclusion, I want to know if it is worth investing so much money in the 2 implants. Should I just have a bridge done? My doctor says it will be a waste as the rest of my teeth are so perfect. What should I do? My braces will be off in July and I do not want to have the 2 gaps empty for long. Alternatively, would it be ok if I asked my doctor to close up the gap in the lower jaw and have an implant in the upper jaw? Would my teeth look weird? Please advice. Thanks a million.,

Any advice about traumatic healing process after implant treatment?

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010
Q.
Hi Dr Caplan My husband has recently (a week ago) began the process of a dental implant. His first procedure was quite traumatic for him (hates dentists, rarely visits them and I talked him into having a dental implant). He has had a false tooth (in the front) for 30 years and has continuously restuck the tooth to the plate with superglue – it’s time for something new!!!). During the procedure he felt as if the dentist was actually hammering the bone – the bone actually shattered and he now has a mouth full of stitches and is in constant pain as well as experiencing bad headaches. We are Australian expats living in Saudi Arabia and are now wondering whether we have done the right thing in having this procedure done here. He has been given a false tooth and told that it will take 3-4 months before it can be worked on again. Any advice??? ,
