Hi, I have been doing research on different types of partial dentures for my front teeth to make my teeth more attractive because I cannot afford veneers. I am not missing any teeth but I do have chipped teeth and bonding does not hold up. I was wondering if the Valplast would work for me because I am not missing any teeth or if the “flipper” type would work better? And what the price would be for 8 fake upper teeth in both types?

I need quite extensive dental work what insurance plan should i choose

Hi Dr Rob I need quite extensive dental work which I have put off for many years due toi the escalating expense, I have put off at least 3 root canals, my front teeth have gone wonky so I need a brace, and I need to replace both my caps and I probably need at least another two caps, this obviously is hugely above my budget, and I don’t realy want to travel to Bulgaria or Poland to get treatment, what Dental Insurance would be the most comprehensive with full cover with no excess – and if it would cover an Anaesthesiologist if I wanted to have everything done in one go, as I have an extreme fear of Dentists. I am sorry i seem alarmist but I need to sort this problem out asap! Best regards

Discomfort after crown fitting and back teeth sensitive

Hi! ive just undergone 3 months of dental treatment to replace all of my old amalgam fillings with “white” ones. one tooth was v bad and i had root canal treatment and now have a lovely new crown. I had the permanent crown fitted 4 days ago (2 teeth back from the upper right canine) but i still feel a little discomfort when i put pressure on it around the gum. Will it settle down? also, ive noticed my back teeth especially the lower ones are sensitive to cold drinks. ive been using a gel at night for over a week but i dont see any difference. im afraid of more root canal treatment….what do u think? is it perhaps caused by the chemicals in the composite fillings that need time to settle? thanking you in advance.

I have abcess on tooth, in the middle of bladder cancer, I am taking codeine phosphate and baby aspirin.I am thinking of having tooth removed, am on antibiotics at present.Have been offered antibiotics after 4 months as other option as it will come back.I am worried about having tooth removed because of my state of health. I’ve seen a few questions on here about the varying ways to achieve the “fanged” look, but was wondering what,if any, long term effects there would be for having my four canine teeth shaped into points by a professional. I’ve seen that there are cultures who do this, and it’s thought by some that it is to improve hygiene (i’m assuming less plaque build up). I’m fascinated, and want to know your professional opinion.

I’m 24 and think I have a deep bite/over bite.

Dear Dr Patel, I’m 24 and think I have a deep bite/over bite. If i bite together I can only see the last 2-4mm of my bottom front teeth, and one of my top front teeth sticks out a bit. I’m just wondering what sort things are done for adults to treat this sort of thing? Its quite scary reading online about expanders, extractions and even jaw surgery and wondered what might actually be involved in any treatment and whether deep bite restricts options.
