2 Days After My Root Canal Treatment And I Can’t Bite Down, Is This Normal?

Q.
Hi Mark, I have recently had a root canal that did not bother me at all. I just had another one that is right next to the first one. It did have pain in it before the root canal. It is 2 days after the root canal and it feels like the inside is tender and if I bite down on it ( even a little bit ) it feels like the rods are being pushed. During the procedure it felt as if the doctor pushed past the canal. Could this be why it has some pain? If so should i be worried and call the doctor? If this is normal how long will it last? I’m not sure what I should do and I don’t want to pester my dentist as he is a very busy man! It just doesn’t feel the same as it did last time. Any help would be great, thank you for your time. Regards.

It is normal to experience some discomfort following any dental procedure but especially with root canal treatment. It should subside quickly over the next few days but please return to the dentist or specialist who carried out the treatment if your problems continue

Kind regards

Mark
